Searching for a lost line

Corfe Mullen Halt opened in July 1928 and closed in 1956. Today nothing remains of Corfe Mullen Halt, the cutting has been filled in and at the same time bridge No.235 adjoining the station was demolished and the road levelled. Pine Road bridge No.236 which was about 200 yards from bridge 235 still exists, as does Ashington bridge No.238 which was between Broadstone station and Corfe Mullen Halt.

Heading towards Corfe Mullen Junction, which was between Corfe Mullen Halt and Bailey Gate, several bridges still exist including Brog Street bridge No.229 and Blandford Road bridge No.223. The Corfe Mullen crossing keepers cottage is still to be seen and in January 2008 still had its level crossing gates.
