
The goods yard closed on 5th April 1965, the signal box on 31st May 1965 and the station closed on 7th March 1966.
The site of the sidings and goods shed are now occupied by new houses but the original railway station, the Station Master’s house and the Railway Hotel still exist. All are now private dwellings.


Cole railway station is now a private residence.

This is all that remains of Bridge No. 120 that crossed the Bruton to Castle Cary road just beyond the northern end of Cole station.
